2001 Reunion

Thrilla in Manila Postponement

We have succeeded in replacing Mr. Estrada with Ms. Macapagal- Arroyo peacfully, quickly, and bloodlessly!

But the situation in the Philippines is still not stable enough to allow a gathering like the "Thrilla in Manila" at
this time.

The peace and order situation has returned to normal, but based
on past experience, the first year or two in office of the new
administration may very well be prone to a succession of attempted coups
d'etat or other methods of de-stabilization of the government.

Rumours to this effect have already been printed in several of Manila's major
newspapers. It is the feeling of the committee to wait and pass several uneventful months before committing to a new date for the "Thrilla in
Manila".

A tremendous amount of time, work, and planning have gone into this event, and it is with regret and disappointment that we must make this announcement.

We on the committee had looked forward to having this reunion in March probably more than anyone else has, as we knew what a great week of parties and events we had put together.

A full refund will be made within the next thirty days to those of you who have already paid. For anyone with questions, please contact us via the jeepneygang.
