Anne
(Duckert) Gobbers ('82)
Anne
and her husband Mike visited the Bay Area on their way to Maui in November.
They spend a few days with us and did some sightseeing, and immediately
fell in love with San Francisco. They live in Hamburg, Germany, have a
house
in the country, and do not have children (someone say DINKS?). Anne still
keeps in touch with some of her old barkada, especially high school sweetheart
Eric Dolatre ('82). Here's Anne and
Mike.
Andrew
Dent ('84)
After working for Bill Gates in Seattle
for a few years, Andrew is now living in the San Francisco Bay Area and
has started his own company, called 7Software.
On the July 4th weekend in 1997 we drove 14 hours through the desert to
camp in the Grand Canyon.
Along the way we met up with Nancy Fava and Rod O'Connor in Las Vegas.
Alan
Jones ('85)
Alan has been living
in Hong Kong since 1990. He got married this year and work in the graphic
design field. He hastens to add "No, I'm not a designer - christ, I can't
even draw a striaght line! - I work as an account servicing type of guy."
Alan still has a passion for football, as is evident by the following quote:
"Footballers are
only interested in drinking, clothes and the size of their willies." Karren
Brady, 1994
Nancy
Fava ('82)
Nancy lives in NYC
and works with J. Walter Thompson.
She spent a week vacationing in sunny California, and got together with
old friends from IS. She took me to a SF Giants game at Candlestick Park
(aka 3Com Stadium). We met Len Finocchio (81) in Japantown for a drink.
And we had a BBQ mini-runion at Salim Assad's place in Mountain View.

Assad ('82)

Salim has an outfit
in San Jose that sells customized vans called Country
Homes Campers. He's been married for about 4 years to a "california
girl" named Kaylene. They have a young son named Anthony and live in Mountain
View. Salim has put on a few pounds since high school, but is still funny
as ever. If you have a Ford
or VW bus
you want to convert into a camper, call Salim. We held a mini-reunion
at Salim's casa.
Sailesh
Jha ('81)
Sailesh is currently
an economics professor in at the Chinese
University in Hong Kong. He was in San Francisco and stayed with
his sister Rina ('85). He's busy publishing macroeconomics articles so
he can get tenure. He's still single and happy that way. And he's still
a Porsche fanatic.
